A generation is a common name to refer to multiple additions and modifications of the universe Pokémon. | |||
The generations help to define these changes, especially in terms of adding new Pokémon. Each new episode of the main series is neither a remake nor a direct sequel, founded a new generation. | |||
As in any fi universe, each new generation extends and modifies what is considered canon. At present, the Pokémon universe has seven generations. | |||
